2019 RAM 1500 vs 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

At Brooklyn Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, your trusted choice for new and used cars for sale, we host a diverse collection of power-hungry pickups from RAM. One of the many trucks in our showroom that has garnered plenty of attention from our customers is the RAM 1500. Known for its reliability, power beneath the hood, and vast cargo space, it's easy to see why the 2019 RAM 1500 is a crowd favorite. To showcase the RAM 1500 truck's superior capabilities, we created a head-to-head comparison against one of its top competitors: the Chevy Silverado 1500.

Performance

RAM trucks are known for providing drivers with a kind of power and capability that is reliable from start to finish; the 2019 RAM 1500 is no exception. This RAM pickup comes standard with a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine, which gives drivers an impressive 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque to play with. A 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 is also offered, delivering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The Chevy Silverado, on the other hand, struggles to keep up. Its base powertrain churns out just 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque.

The RAM 1500 for sale also implements an innovation not offered in the Chevy truck: eTorque technology, which is found in two of its three engine offerings. Thanks to this integration, the 2019 RAM 1500 renders a maximum 25 mpg hwy with the V6. The Chevy Silverado 1500 only musters up a maximum 23 mpg hwy.

Towing and Payload

To complement its raring performance, the 2019 RAM 1500 at our Dodge dealership serving Queens, NY boasts a best-in-class 12,750-lb towing capacity. The Chevy Silverado? Its maximum towing capacity caps out at 12,200 lb. While the trucks offer similar payload capacities, only the RAM 1500 features a cargo management system: RamBox®. This incorporates the best of the best, including two lockable and drainable storage bins, LED lighting, a 115-volt power outlet, and remote access.

Technology

While it is important to pay attention to what's beneath the hood, what is inside the cabin deserves a spotlight as well. The 2019 RAM 1500 offers the innovation that is Uconnect®, an infotainment system that features screen sizes from five to 12 inches. The 2019 Chevy Silverado truck's MyLink® system equips a screen size range of five to just eight inches. Additionally, the RAM truck offers two safety systems that aren't even offered in the Silverado 1500: a reverse stop function and surround view camera.

While both pickup trucks are certainly capable, the 2019 RAM 1500 comes out on top in terms of performance and innovation. Here at Brooklyn Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, you can experience the new RAM 1500 for yourself with a test drive. Our NY Chrysler dealership is conveniently located at 2286 Flatbush Ave.
